About Shady Brook Farmhouse

Shady Brook Farmhouse sits on 11 acres off the beaten path in the countryside of Fallbrook, North County San Diego.  Shady Brook offers numerous photo opportunities including a vintage arbor, barn mural with farm animals, putting green, antique tractor and windmill, rustic bridge, towering trees and year-round creek.  The expertly designed Farmhouse consists of a living room and dining room, kitchen, rustic fireplace and large expansive patios to take advantage of the outdoors.

Tell us more about the Mini Wedding!
Periodically, we set aside a time to host a series of all-inclusive micro-weddings. We believe this is the ideal answer to those that for whatever reason, wish to forgo the formalities of a larger wedding. Our experienced Event Producers coordinate everything from the ceremony to the cake cutting ensuring your wedding is effortless and stress-free without forgoing the beauty of your day.

How can you include so many things and charge only $2195 for the Mini Wedding?
Since we are hosting multiple weddings in a single day, we are able to secure better pricing from our vendors and pass it along to you.

How many guests can I have at my Mini Wedding?
Our package includes 4 guests, including the wedding couple, but you can have up to 10. Additional guests are $50 per person and can be added in your shopping cart at the time of booking, or you may elect to add on later up until two weeks prior to your wedding.

Do children count towards the total guest count?
Children over the age of two counts towards your guest count and will be provided sparkling juice in lieu of sparkling wine.  Babies are free.

Do you perform same-sex weddings?
Yes, we do.  Two bouquets or two boutonnieres are included and can be selected at the time of booking.

When do Mini Weddings take place?
Shady Brook Farms dedicates a minimum of 3 days every season for Mini Weddings.  Summer of 2020 July 30, 31, and August 1st.   Future dates will be announced 90 days prior to each date range.

Where do Mini Weddings take place?
Shady Brook Farms in Fallbrook, CA.  Our venue is approximately 45 minutes from downtown San Diego.

How many Mini Weddings do you host per year?
We offer up to 12 mini weddings per season.  Due to popularity, we will be adding more dates so please sign up for our mailing list so you will be in the know when the next opening is.  Date and time slots go quickly so you will have a head start.

What if it rains?
On rare occasions, we cannot perform your wedding outdoors, Shady Brook Farmhouse is set up for your ceremony offering floor to ceiling views of the beautiful outdoors.

How do I book my Mini Wedding?
All Mini Weddings can be booked and purchased here. You can purchase upgrades and add additional guests there as well. If you are unsure about what upgrades you would like or how many people will attend, you can purchase your Mini Wedding date and time online and then work with one of our Event Producers to plan the rest. For customer service, please call 760-689-6073 and one of our Event Specialists will walk you through the buying experience.

What is the booking cutoff date?
For Summer 2020, bookings will close on Friday, July 17th, 2020.

What are your upgrade options?
We have several upgrade options available to enhance your wedding that are showcased online at www.theminiwedding.com/upgrades.  You may purchase your upgrades at the same time you purchase your Mini Wedding, or they can be purchased during the planning process.  Please speak to your event producer for additional information.

Can I add upgrades later?
Absolutely. Our event producers will work with you to customize your Mini Wedding experience.

Are there any additional costs?
The Mini Wedding package price is $1995. Applicable sales tax will be added to your package price which is charged at the time of purchase. All upgrades and additional guests are also subject to sales tax.

What is your cancellation policy?
Mini Wedding dates and times are limited and only available on a first come first serve basis.  Once your date and time has been purchased, you have 24 hours to cancel your reservation.  To cancel, please call 760-689-6073 or email [email protected].

How do I start planning my Mini Wedding?
After you purchase your wedding date and time online, you will receive a confirmation email.  Within 48 hours of booking,  you will receive a welcome email from our event producers outlining the planning process.

Can I choose the music for my ceremony?
Yes, as part of the planning process our event producers will ask what music you would like played during your ceremony.  We suggest you select three songs to include your Welcome song, Processional song and Recessional song.

What type of ceremony is offered?  Can we incorporate our own traditions?
The officiant included in your Mini Wedding package offers a non-denominational ceremony. Once booked, the officiant will reach out to you to discuss the traditions that are important to you.

Can we write our own Vows?
Yes!

What if its just the two of us getting married, do we need witnesses?
Yes, legally you need one witness in the State of California.  One of our staff members can serve as your witness.

Can we visit Shady Brook Farmhouse prior to our Mini Wedding?
Yes, once you book your event and receive your planning email from your Event Producer, they will be happy to schedule a time to come and tour.

Can we bring our own Photographer or Officiant?
Yes, but please note that this will not change the package price.

Can I choose my cake flavor?
Yes, you can select at the time of booking or you can “decide later” during the planning process.  All decisions must be made two weeks prior to your Mini Wedding.

What do I need to bring?
You will need to bring your marriage license to make your wedding legal.

How do I get my marriage license?

Do we have to leave at the end of our Mini Wedding?
Unfortunately, yes.  We have to keep the space open for other Mini Wedding Couples.  If you wish to continue your celebration, we do offer an overnight stay at our Vineyard Hills Villa.

Can I arrive early?
Since we are hosting 4 Mini Weddings on site, we ask that you not arrive early to avoid interfering with the wedding prior to yours.  

What if we are running late?
We must adhere to a time schedule so we will still honor your end time that we agreed to and work with you to include as much of the Mini Wedding as possible within the given time period.

Can I bring my pet?
Certainly, we love animals but please note your pet must be leashed and supervised by you or your guests at all times.

When will I get my photos?
Our photographer understands how excited you are to get your photos and will work diligently to provide your image gallery no later than one month after your wedding day.

Can I get more than 45 images?
Our photographer will take approximately 110-120 photos for you to select from.  Included in your Mini Wedding Package are 45 images to download.  If you wish to purchase more images, you may do so by purchasing directly through the photographer along with prints or a beautiful photo album.

Can I live stream my wedding so my friends and family can watch remotely?
Yes!  This is a popular upgrade that can be purchased through us for a reasonable fee. 

Can I expect my wedding to look like the photos?
Yes, you can count on exquisite old oak and sycamore tree backdrop outdoors.   Florals are inspired by the season, therefore actual flowers can vary although the color scheme will remain the same.

Can I personalize the design of my wedding?
If you prefer to bring in your own personal bouquet and or boutonniere, you may do so with no reduction to the package price.  We cannot displace any of the decor items in place.

How big is the Mini Wedding Cake?
The size of the Mini Wedding cake is based on your guest count.  Every cake is single tiered.  The design will look like the design in the photograph.  For four people the cake has a 4-inch diameter and is 5 inches tall.  For 5-10 people the cake has a 5-inch diameter and is 5 inches tall.

What if I have dietary restrictions?
We can accommodate requests for gluten-free and vegan.  Please note, these cakes have a $15 surcharge.

What if I want to take my cake home?
We will have boxes to take it with you.
